Do I need to book and pay for a dance class in advance?

We take bookings and payments for classes and private lessons in advance by bank transfer or online, or through our online shop.

We are cashless and do not take payment in cash.

Do I need a dance partner?

All Classes and Private lessons are for couples only.

What should I wear for dancing?

Most dancers wear comfortable casual clothes. It helps if footwear is soft enough to be able to bend the foot at the toe joint, although slippery soles, high thin heels or sling backs should be avoided.

How old do I have to be to dance with the Majestic Dance Club?

All our classes are for adults over 18 only. However, all age groups are well represented, from young adults to the mature young at heart. We have rockers from 18 to 80!

Is personal dance tuition available?

Personal dance tuition can be arranged, subject to availability. Private dance lessons can be arranged for couples on Sunday morning or early afternoon, it is normal practice for two instructors to be teaching in the ballroom at the same time.

What dance styles do you teach?

We teach Ballroom, Latin American, Classical Sequence [Old Time], Salsa, Rock ‘n’ Roll, American Smooth.

The Ballroom Dances we teach include;

• Waltz
• Tango
• Slow Foxtrot
• Quickstep
• Viennese Waltz

The Latin American Dances we teach include:

• Rumba
• Samba
• Cha Cha Cha
• Jive
• Paso Doble

We also teach Salsa, Argentine Tango, Bolero, Rock ‘n’ Roll and swing.

I am a complete novice, can I really start any week?

You can start on the first Sunday of any month in Norton Lindsey, we start a new dance each month, however, you will need to make a booking and make a payment in advance we do not permit casual visitors so please don't just turn up.
