Do I need to book?

The Majestic Dance Club does not take bookings in advance for the social dance group or other ballroom groups, we work on a pay as you dance basis. Please feel free to arrive on the appropriate night and pay at the door.

Do I need a Partner?

It is not necessary to start the beginners course as part of a couple, as a percentage of the group usually start the course unaccompanied, however, once the course has been running for a few week and for all other classes including private lessons you will be required to be with a partner.

What is the typical format of the night?

The first part of the evening is for instruction, followed by a Social Practice Dance. The instructors will be on hand to help out and soft drinks will be on sale throughout the evening.

How old do I have to be?

All our classes are held in the evening, thus all dancers must be adults over 18. However, all age groups are well represented, from young adults to the mature young at heart. We have rockers from 18 to 80!!

What should I wear?

Most members wear comfortable casual clothes. It helps if footwear is soft enough to be able to bend the foot at the toe joint, although slippery soles, high thin heels or sling backs should be avoided.

Is personal instruction available?

Personal instruction can be arranged, subject to availability. Lessons can be arranged for couples on Sunday morning or early afternoon and it is normal practice for two instructors to be teaching in the ballroom at the same time.
